* Mohamed Aweys Muudey (Boqorka Bartamaha)
* Hassan Kafi Abdirahman Sheikh Isakh (Qoyste)
Both journalists devoted decades of exemplary service to the Somali public, demonstrating unwavering integrity, professional rigor, and courage.
“The deaths of Boqorka Bartamaha and Hassan Kafi Qoyste represent an irreparable loss to the Somali media. These veteran journalists were highly skilled professionals whose extensive expertise and dedication elevated public interest journalism. Operating during some of the most perilous eras for media practice in Somalia, they remained steadfast in their commitment to truth and public service,” said an SRS spokesperson.
